Week in Review
One of these weeks, I will stop taking so many pictures to overload your Sunday...This is not that week!
Hellooooooo Teddy Bear Week! We had a BLAST bringing in our bears from home. :)

We wrote with them and read to them all morning until it was finally time for our picnic!

We were only a little excited to use TEDDY GRAHAMS for our word problems!
We used two different flavors to help us see the two groups in our word problems. We practiced seeing our word problems as a start, change, and result.

See? Only a LITTLE excited. :)

Some of us left our bears at school to have a slumber party...but you would not BELIEVE what they did while we were gone!

They were so surprised that our teddy bears could be so mischievous. I even heard that some of their bears kept up the trickery when they got home ;)

Later in the week, we were visited by a very special story teller.

We celebrated our grandparents! (PS - thank you for coming!!)

We continued practicing word problems

...and wrote our own by the end of the week! We're going to be word problem champs.

I hope you've had a WONDERFUL weekend. Let me know if there's any way I can help you!

Teacher's App of the Week
Here is a "teacher recommended" app that will help your first grader practice a skill that we are working on.

ABC Magnetic Alphabet Lite is a free app that you and your first grader can use when practicing those spelling words this week! There is a paid version of the app that provides more features but I am always excited to find free alternatives! Use any magnetic alphabet app (or the real things!) to make practicing spelling words or sight words a little more fun. Concrete/tactile practice is always the way to go with our little learners!

Kid-Friendly Objectives
I can write about a small moment.
I can read, write, and identify words with the th digraph.
I can identify proper nouns.
I can describe the characters and setting in the story.

Week in Review
I hope this post finds you well! Writing this post was so much fun because I got to dig through some of the best pictures from our field trip this past week!

First things first...because of amazing parents like YOU, look at what you helped our class receive just because you placed Scholastic book orders!
You provided us with SO many new books! That classroom reading Kit is a $5 coupon for EVERY STUDENT to use towards their next book order purchase. HOW COOL!!!! Be on the lookout for the October book order soon AND get excited about the Book Fair going on this week!

Because we had so much fun at Evan's Orchard, all of our photos this week are dedicated to that trip. :)

**Don't forget, if you'd like to see pictures of your child on the blog, please complete the picture permission slip on the righthand side of the blog! :) **

Corban loved the "bumpy" slide!

Tasting apple cider after our tour of the apple fridge!

Wagon ride around the orchard!

Lunch on the picnic tables!

This little guy was eager for some yummy food. :) Don't worry - his head fits back through the gaps!

We were SO lucky to have some thoughtful parents who were willing to give us a yummy apple cider treat at the end of the day (complete with pumpkin muffins when we got back to school)! Thanks again!

We were also visited by a very cool praying mantis!

You can clearly tell by our tired faces that the heat definitely beat us by the end of the day! Haha!

Here were some of our favorite parts!

Have a great week!
