And the choir sang so many wonderful songs! The kids had a blast waving their flags around.
We also watched this video to learn a little more about our Veterans:
We made our thankful pies with our families!
One of their favorite activities this week was getting to write a persuasive letter to a special guest for Thanksgiving!
We had fun pulling random equations and "slashing" them if they were unequal.

Week in Review
Our Monday consisted of an AWESOME Veteran's Day program at school!
We had a guest speaker. And the choir sang so many wonderful songs! The kids had a blast waving their flags around.
We also watched this video to learn a little more about our Veterans:
We also spent a lot of time learning about Thanksgiving this week! There are tons of great books on Epic! for you to enjoy at home:
our access code is ind3424
We practiced defining new words using Context Clues in our books.
(See if your first grader can remember what "bluster" means!)
We watched a video about life as a pilgrim kid and wrote our opinion about whether we would prefer to be a pilgrim kid or a modern kid.
A surprising number of students wanted to be Pilgrim kids. Sounds like they're ready for you to put them to work at home! ;)
We also read some fun Thanksgiving books.
That helped us generate our list of thankfulness!
In math, we were doing some INTENSE work. Not only were we adding multiple addends, we were having to determine equal and unequal equations. WHOA.
Of course, I had to pull out the addition machine to really bring the point home. Needless to say, it was an instant favorite. We had fun pulling random equations and "slashing" them if they were unequal.
The best part of the week? Taking time to slow down and just watch the snow.
Have a FANTASTIC week!
