Week in Review
We've been having so much fun learning about nonfiction writing. To kick off our unit, we explored all of the nonfiction books we have in our classroom library. The kids had a blast talking about the components of informational text (and sharing their cool facts).
We also talked about how even though informational texts require a bit of research, we are ALL already experts at something. The kids had the opportunity to teach us about the thing they have expert experience in.
We even practiced evaluating nonfiction writing with our new checklists (only the best authors use them!)
We also used our books to help us find examples of nouns! We are focusing on nouns all month long.
In math, we wrapped up our geometry unit with talking about defining attributes of shapes.
