Please check your first grader's folder and agenda every day. It is very important that these two items come to school with him or her. This is how you and I will communicate concerns, homework, etc.

If you would like to see pictures of your first grader on the blog, please fill out the picture permission slip!

The Week in Review
First grade is piloting a new math program called Eureka Math.
Last week, we worked on identifying what is one more and what is one less when you see a number.
We also practiced how to decompose a number in a number bond.

(and we spent time learning how to work in groups!)

We continued to build our reading stamina.

and later this week we will learn another way to build stamina in Daily 5! Check back on Friday :)

Your child also learned letters A through D in the Phonics Dance today. Ask your child to try their best to remember the chants. Sign their agenda any day this week if they tried and I will have a goodie for them the following morning. :)

Here's Letter A to get them started..."A-a-a. Abby is sad! A-a-a is A. Wahhh!"
