Week in Review
I know I say this every week but your kids truly blow me away with how wonderful they are! I tried to capture as many pictures as I could of their sweet faces and costumes for every day of Read Across America week but there is no way to express how absolutely lucky I am to spend every day with these kiddos. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for letting me spend every day with these first graders!

Monday started off with some Dr. Seuss silliness. We wore silly socks and immediately read "Fox in Socks!" We used it as an opportunity to brush up on our rhyming skills and write some seriously crazy Dr. Seuss style rhymes with a partner.

Tuesday was super silly...we came to school wearing all kinds of hats!

We read Cat in the Hat and learned how to draw one of Dr. Seuss' most familiar characters. The book left us with the question, "What would you do?" So...we wrote about it!

We squeezed in some practice with suffixes...while wearing mustaches.

On Wednesday, Amber Phillpott from WKYT made a special trip to Wellington to read "Oh the Places You Will Go" to ONLY the first graders! We found out she even put a short clip of us on the news that night!
On Friday, the first grade team reminded us that it can take a "village" to teach kids to read. :)

Have a great week!
