Recap of the Week
Ellie is always a great example during our Writer's Workshop!

We continued working on our Writing Stamina. This week, we started to talk about specifically checking our work for correct capitals (we don't want any of those fUnKy capitals around here!). We made a chart similar to the one above to keep our writing "fresh!"

Henry and Zeyad were excellent examples during our "Stand Up, Hand Up, Pair Up!" time during our Comprehension lessons. This is such a great strategy to teach our first graders how to ask and answer questions with peers in the classroom. It's also a perfect chance for us to practice simple greetings and saying, "Thank you!" for sharing one's thinking.

Shade building his sight words!

Using our stamps to practice spelling sight words.

We also had a lot of fun as we began to feel what it's like to be in a small group with Mrs. Carney! This week's groups were learning different activities they can do during their Word Work rotations.

Looking forward to a great week of punctuation and MATH GROUPS!!!
Your first graders will get their hands on the iPads this week. I can't wait! :)
Have a great week!
