Week in Review!
It was a wild week in our class! It seemed like everyone was catching the bug that was floating around our room. I hope we are all back to better health this week and are able to rest up over fall break. :)
Due to my absence on Grandparents Day, I do not have any pictures of that fun celebration but I hear it was a great success. It is so nice to know there is so much support for our first graders even beyond their immediate families.
Wednesday, I asked our first graders to bring in a stuffed animal from home. These animals tied in perfectly to our personal narrative writing. We have been talking about experiences and our bears were quite a fun experience to have at school.
We read this book and kept a very close eye on our bears to make sure they didn't budge throughout the day.
But...our bears stayed the night at school and evidently had a party while we were home!
We had fun making the connection to Corduroy on Thursday.
The fun carried on to our Teddy Bear Picnic while the other grades celebrated their Grandparents in the cafeteria.
That afternoon, we even added some teddy bears to our Missing Addends Math.
Then, of course, we ended our week with a fun trip to Boyd's Orchard!
The kids LOVED tasting fresh apple cider and donuts!
These girls were old pros on hay rides - just like the pumpkin patch from last year!
We learned about different apple products and how important bees are to helping those apples grow!
Thank you to everyone who helped make this week and our first field trip so successful. You are all so appreciated! I look forward to another week with you and your first graders :)
