The Week in Review
We introduced a new part of Daily 5 last week:
We learned a lot of different options for our Work on Writing Center. Many of you were able to enjoy the Family Message Journal that our First Graders will write in at the end of every week! It was so fun to see their excitement as they brought them back this morning. :)
We practiced writing fiction sticker stories.
We learned how to "Spin A Story"
And we practiced sharing our writing with our friends!
We had a dance party when we made it to 15 minutes of independent writing for the FIRST TIME! We are building stamina! :)
Last week, we focused on decomposing numbers less than 10.
This week, we will be focusing on different strategies to help us solve our word problems! Today, we focused on finding key words (in all, together) and highlighting the important information. Our strategies today were drawing pictures and making tallies. Ask your first grader about our strategies the rest of the week. :)
Have a great week!
