Sept. 22 - Grandparents Day

Grandparents are invited into the classroom at 10:45 for a simple craft/activity

Sept. 24 - we will be eating in the classroom. Please bring your lunch if you signed up to do so!

Sept. 25 - Field Trip!!! We will plan to return in time for specials.

If you have signed up to be a chaperone, you will need to complete a training the morning before we leave. I will verify a time on that. 

Sept. 21-25 Book Fair **Our class's schedule time is Wednesday at 2pm

Kid-Friendly Objectives

I can identify the missing addend in a word problem.

I can write a real personal narrative.

I can identify and explain an experience.

I can read and write "th" words.

I can identify and provide an example of a common noun.

What's Been Going On?

Last week, we really dug in to text features! Your first grader worked hard to apply captions, headings, table of contents, bold words, and labels!

 
 

We started to really dig in to Daily 5 this week with small groups and learning new rotations.

We got our new writing partners to help us share our work!

We learned how to do the Math Bags for Math Workshop! It was a great time to collaborate (this week's Word on the Street!)

 We got in our Math Groups (finally!)

 And we got SUPER  pumped about finding Missing Addends with our mystery bags.

I guess we were excited about introducing the new technology aspect of groups. :)

We ended our week making a wish list for Book Fair!

 I am SO lucky to have your first grader in my class this year. They are so hard working and are ready to dive in each and every day as an adaptable steward to this classroom and to Wellington. (If you haven't noticed, they are eating up the Words on the Street ;) )
